Swedish Meatball Sauce

Ingredients

salted butter
¼
cup
all-purpose flour

beef broth

tablespoon
Soy sauce
1
teaspoon
onion powder

teaspoon
salt

teaspoon
ground pepper

heavy cream
Instructions
In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the flour and whisk until you have a thick paste.
Slowly add the beef broth and whisk until combined.
Add the soy sauce, onion powder, salt, and ground pepper. Whisk to combine.
Finally add the heavy cream. Whisk and bring to a boil. Then reduce to simmer until the sauce thickens up about 4 to 5 minutes.
Pour the sauce into a skillet, add the sauce and bring to a boil.
Add the cooked meatballs and coat them with the sauce. Warm it up until the meatballs are heated through.
Serve over rice, pasta noodles, or mashed potatoes.

You can find the

here or you can use your own favorite recipe or even frozen premade meatballs (thawed) to add to this sauce.
Add some fresh grated cheese or chopped herbs when serving. Also you can use
Freeze dry chives you can find at Walmart and most other well stocked grocery stores.
Keep the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
I wouldn’t recommend freezing the sauce as it may separate when defrosting.
Add some grilled onions and mushrooms to the sauce if you'd like to bulk it up a little.
Serve with a side of salad, vegetable salad, and roasted vegetables.
