Notes
We like to grab a bag of frozen, fully cooked shrimp from the grocery store. You’ll want to follow the package directions for thawing your shrimp before wrapping them with bacon.
Using fully cooked shrimp makes it easier to prepare this appetizer since you don’t need to worry about both the shrimp and the bacon reaching a certain temperature.
The zest from the fresh lemon adds a nice contrast to the savoriness of the bacon.
You can also sprinkle your shrimp with bottled lemon juice.
I like to omit any seasoning since the shrimp and bacon both bring plenty of flavor to the table. However, you can toss your shrimp in salt and pepper or use your favorite seafood seasoning if you want to add a different flavor profile.
While we use medium sized shrimp you can also use large or jumbo shrimp.
You can store your leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat your shrimp in the oven for 10 minutes at 300°F. This will reheat your shrimp and ensure it stays nice and crispy.
