Gifts for Teens

Fuji Instax Mini Cell Phone Printer – how fun is this! You use an app on your phone, and it sends your photos right to this mini printer. Get those photos off your phone and into real life with a click of a button. Perfect for having photos for their lockers, rooms, for mom to steal to put on the fridge, and more.

JBL Clip Portable Mini Bluetooth Speaker – my kids love that this clips on things and they can take it skiing or on their backpacks when they are riding their bikes. It’s small and the sound quality is good. We’ll often use it in our older car when listening to an audiobook together (because that car doesn’t connect to Bluetooth on it’s own).

Wavy Bow Earrings – bows are very trendy this year if you haven’t noticed. They are popular in Christmas decor and lots of apparel. My stylish 17-year-old loves all things bows right now and loves these earrings. Stylish and classy but still totally fun.

Large Satin Hair Bow – I told you bows are in. These large satin bows in any color are so cute and she wears them often.

Weighted Blanket – my teens are just discovering the joys of a weighted blanket. This one is super soft and would be cozy for any member of the family.

Bubble Letter Necklace – you can find these in a variety of places but the bubble monograms are so cute and easy to give.

Blush Stick – again my daughter loves these. I know nothing about them but she wanted you to know that any teen would love these.

Star Hair Clips – perfect for adding some style to your hair for school or a dance. These are pretty small and come with a bunch in one pack.

Travel Jewelry Case – this travel jewelry case comes with spots of earrings, rings, necklaces and more. Macey loves to take hers to games with her so that she can keep all of her jewelry from getting tangled or lost.

Fishing Lure Advent Calendar – my kids just got into fishing this year and they love collecting, trading, and finding fishing lures. We haven’t opened this one year but my kids are going to love it.

Travel Watercolor Kit – water color kits of this size are my favorite and I have a couple of different ones. I love throwing them in my backpack when we are out and about or traveling with them. It’s small and the colors are great.

Rubik’s Cube Set – this whole set is really fun because it has so many kinds. If you have a kid wanting to just get one traditional Rubik’s cube and not all the different ones, the GAN speed cube is considered the nice brand.

Star Wars Lego Sets – anything Lego + Star Wars is a bit hit in my house. Lego’s of any kind are always a hit in my house actually, so you can’t go wrong. This was a highly sought after set last year and they loved putting it together.

Beats Solo 4 Wireless Headphones – perfect for bebopping around the house or listening to in the car.

Gifts for Kids

Hot Wheels City Mega Garage – we’ve had this set a few years and it is still together and still well used. It takes up some space but everyone who comes across it loves it.

Playmobil Knights – we have this set and a few other additional sets that go with it (like a siege tower!) These are one of those sets of toys that my kids have played with for years and they look forward to getting new pieces.

LEGO Classic Large Creative Brick Box – my young kids like getting a box of general bricks to just build with as much as they like getting a structured set. This is a great getting started Lego set too. It’s inexpensive enough that I normally have one in my closet for last minute Birthday gifts too.

Wood Rainbow Teether – this is still one of my all time favorite gifts to give babies and toddlers. These rainbow wooden beads are strung together and make for a great busy toy or teether. Plus it’s just pretty.

Stunt Scooter – my kids outgrew the scooters they’ve had for years and I bought two of these this year for birthdays (and a third kid wants it for Christmas!). It’s a great larger scooter for bigger kids (I got it for my 9 and 11 year olds and my 13 year old wants one too). They are great quality, hold a good amount of weight, and the wheels turn really smoothly.

Microscope – we’ve had this microscope a few years now and it’s just so fun to get out. It’s a great quality for the price and my kids are always thinking of new things they’d like to try to see under it.

Microscope Slides with Specimen – this goes with the microscope above! I’m so glad that I bought some pre-made slides to go with it. It has all kinds of plant and animal specimens all ready to look at which is a ton of fun. My kids and their friends will often get this out and look at it all together. It’s just interesting!

Little Rechargeable Book Light – these are great for just about anyone, including kids. They are USB charged little clip-on book lights. My kids share rooms and these have been great for when one wants to stay up later than the other reading or working on a project. It can clip to a book but it also clips to the underside of our bunk beds or a blanket.

Plush Dragon with Babies – my son got these last year and the kids still get them out a lot to play with. The biggest dragon has a zipper in the tummy and all the babies fit inside. It’s so cute and who doesn’t need more dragons to play pretend with?

Beading Kit – Macey got this kit before Taylor Swift made friendship bracelets popular. It’s a GREAT set, so many colors of those popular flat beads plus extras like clasps, letter beads, and more.

Gifts for Him and Her

Electric Hand Warmers – Thomas got me rechargeable hand warmers last year in my stocking and I love them! I use them skiing but I also use them around my house because sometimes my hands just get cold. My kids want to use them all of the time so I think I’ll get some for stockings this year so I don’t have to share mine.

Full Head Ski Mask – I got Thomas one of these a few years ago and while he does wear it skiing, it wears it around the yard while working more than anything. It’s a great warm piece for anyone. He’s bald though so he really likes things to keep his head warm and this works great, skiing or not.

Brimmed Beanie – along the same lines as above, Thomas loves to keep his head covered in the winter and this brimmed beanie is really cute. He wears it when he’s going somewhere like to and from church or going into town. It’s his “nice” warm hat.

I’d Rather Be Reading Mug – I have reopened my Etsy shop and it’s full of cute mugs! This is one I practically like. I have all kinds of chicken related mugs as well as Christmas mugs.

Harry Potter Christmas Pajamas – I picked up a pair of these pajamas in NYC at the Harry Potter store and I’m obsessed. They are so soft and comfy, totally adorable with all of the Harry Potter images, and I thought $45 was a great price for a true Harry Potter product. These run true to size and were long enough for me which is hard to find.

Record Player – playing Christmas records is one of my all time favorite things. No weird popstar versions of your favorite songs and no commercials. I keep my record player out all year long though and we love collecting records, new and old.

One Line a Day Journal – This journal has general dates and you write one line per date for 5 years. I’ve used mine off and on for years and it’s so fun to see what I was doing on this date in past years. It’s a simple way to keep a journal and it’s a really fun gift to give and get. Highly recommend it if you’d like to do a little better about journaling but don’t know where to start.

The Small and the Mighty Book by Sharon McMahon – wow, this book is so interesting! It’s well written and full of history. I’m reading it aloud to my kids right now but it would be a great gift for just about anyone who can read.

Wild Flower Watercolor Book – I was going to give this to myself for Christmas but I got it out already and keep using it. It’s a great step-by-step guide to painting wild flowers! It’s beautiful and inspiring and helpful. I love it!

Soft Electric Blanket – I bought this blanket a few years ago for my grandma and when she moved beds she wanted a slightly smaller one. She ended up giving me this blanket back when her new one came and I had no idea I’d like it so much. This heated blanket is so soft and warm. I love it and my kids love to steal it all the time. It’s often found in the living room with a kid snuggled under it. I don’t think I would have bought myself an electric blanket but I’m so glad we have one.

Hammock – I got all my kids one of these last year and they USE THEM! They’ll put them up in the orchard, take them when we go on a hike, or take them down to the creek to relax over the water. I keep a hammock in the back of the car now too “just in case”. It’s a fun gift I didn’t realize we’d use so much.

Fun Sweatshirts – I reopened my Etsy shop and I have all kinds of fun sweatshirts and hoodies you can choose from. The Bakers Gonna Bake sweatshirt gets me lots of compliments every time I wear it!

Games for the Whole Family

I am not a huge game fan, but if I like it, I really like it. I’m not into overly complicated or fussy games. I want to sit down and play without having to learn a whole new language to play; I am who I am. These are some of my all-time favorite games that I actually like to sit down and play. They are all easy to play and easy to learn AND don’t take a ton of time.

Cover Your Assets Card Game – this game is a simple card game where you are trying to make matches or steal from your neighbor to make your match. Is easy enough for all of my kids to play and to teach to friends in a jiffy. I bet anyone 7/8 and older can play easily and young can play with some help.

Bears and the Bees Card Game – this game is a simple color matching game that the whole family likes. The cards are really beautiful and it’s a treat to play. If playing with a group that includes a few bigger kids or adults, kids as young as 4/5 can play with a little patient support. This is a favorite party game because anyone can play it and it takes 3 minutes to explain.

Quixx Dice Game – this is a fun dice game that I love. It’s a personal favorite. It comes with a score sheet and you are trying to get as many points as you can while filling out your sheet. It’s easy to learn on your own and is a little luck mixed with a little skill, which I like.

Rummikub – I like all the versions of Rummikub including the one with all the extra wilds. It’s a matching game where you are trying to build runs or straights and you can use any tiles that have been played as well as your own. Again, it’s a little strategy mixed with luck which is my favorite kind of game.

Don’t Break the Ice – my kids have played this game for years and the youngest two still get it out. I have no idea how we have kept all the pieces for the better part of a decade. It’s a fun game where you tap out the blocks of ice and try not to knock the penguin off. It’s for younger kids and toddlers though all of my kids will still play because it’s just fun.

Busy Town Board Game – I LOVE Richard Scarry and we have also had this board game for the better part of a decade. It’s a great big board that goes on the floor. You try to find things like kites or shovels on the board and get points for how many you spy. It’s great for toddlers and kids alike.

Automatic Card Shuffler – we got one of these at the thrift store years ago and couldn’t believe we had lived without one for so long. None of us are Vegas card dealers so having a little help with the card shuffling was welcome. Plus it’s just fun to watch it work.

Mantis Card Game – we played this game with friends last year and loved it. It’s super simple and the only two moves you are making are stealing or scoring. It’s really fast and simple to teach to others so this is one we always take with us when going to a party. It’s bright and fun and easy to play.

Kitchen + Home Gifts

Starting Sourdough Bread Kit – getting into sourdough? This is the entry level kit I bought years ago and still use. It’s all the little things you need to get started in one place. It’s nothing fancy or expensive and it all works great.

Large 6-quart Ceramic Bowl – this is a large ceramic bowl that I just love. It’s perfect for sourdough, popcorn, or serving salads out of. I love the speckles too. It’s heavy though so be warned.

Le Creuset 5.5 Quart Dutch Oven – these are expensive but what you are paying for is a lighter Dutch oven than other brands. This is the gold standard for Dutch ovens and such a nice product. We have one we just use for caramel making because it never scorches on the bottom. If you don’t want to spend that much on a Dutch oven, I love this Lodge one. It’s heavier to lift but still works great.

Cream Whipper – Thomas got me this cream whipper years ago for Mother’s Day and we still use it all of the time. You add your cream and sugar to it and then it comes out like canned Redi Whip! It’s so fun to have pressurized whipped cream whenever you want with just a few ingredients.

Roborock Vacuum + Mop – this is a complete splurge (and I didn’t realize how much it cost until I just looked it up, it was a Christmas/birthday/anniversary gift since all three of those are within 2 weeks of each other). I’ve had this for 2 years now and love it so much. I love that it sweeps AND mops and it does such a great job. It’s great at mapping where it is and where it’s going. It saves me so much time and energy.

Glass Food Containers – I bought these this year when I was doing some meal prep for a friend with a NICU baby and I love them! I now use them for Tupperware and for meal prep. I love that they are glass because you can bake right in them or microwave them.

Chicken Scratch Notebook – keep track of your grocery list in this cute “chicken scratch” notebook from my Etsy shop! There’s lots of other notebooks in there too.
