Collage of gingerbread baking supplies for the best gingerbread recipes, including a stand mixer, spatulas, cooling rack, baking sheets, sprinkles, dough container, parchment paper, spices, molasses, cookie cutters, spatula, and a gingerbread house. Gingerbread supplies text at the top.

Here’s my favorite gingerbread baking supplies as well as ingredients:

  1. Baking Sheets: these are just standard good quality pans
  2. Wire Cooling Racks: these fit right inside of the pans above! I like that if I’m frosting something so it can drip into the pan
  3. Stacked Gingerbread Cookies Cutters: I love having a few sizes of the same shape! It makes a platter of cookies more interesting and sometimes I just want 3 bites of a cookie
  4. Small Metal Spatula: perfect for getting the unbaked cookie dough off the counter once cut AND for getting cookies off the baking sheet. I use little metal spatulas a lot!
  5. Pre-cut Parchment Paper: pre-cut parchment is so much better than on the roll because it doesn’t roll up on the pan! If you don’t need the whole thing, just cut it, no big deal
  6. Wilton 101 Cookie Cutters Set: I got this set for my wedding almost 20 years ago and still use it every holiday and in-between. It’s a great multi-use set
  7. Christmas Sprinkles: seriously, aren’t these perfect
  8. Meringue Powder: you use this to make royal icing! It helps it harden like cement and it just what you need for gingerbread houses
  9. Dried Ground Ginger: my tip for spices is to buy the brand you like but don’t buy it in giant quantities. It’s better to buy it fresh more often than have it sit in your cabinet year over year
  10. Ground Cinnamon
  11. Ground Cloves
  12. Molasses: love this brand! Don’t get blackstrap molasses and if you are buying outside of the USA, look for fancy molasses and not cooking molasses
  13. Spatula Set: perfect for stir, scraping icings, and other little its and bits
A collage of gingerbread-themed items includes cookie cutters, a Christmas baking book, a gingerbread house book, colored spatulas, sprinkles, a gingerbread-themed sock, and a gingerbread house illustration.

I’m Gingerbread Obsessed, here are a few fun extras:

  1. Book: Gingerbread Mouse: this is such a cute little book, we have had it for years and love it year after year
  2. Book: The Gingerbread Cowboy: a fun western version of the traditional story that my kids really like
  3. Book: Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett: I love everything that Jan Brett puts out and this is so cute
  4. Book: The Secret History of Christmas Baking: I got this book a few years ago and it’s just so interesting! I love knowing the stories behind the common recipes we make during the holidays
  5. Bulk sprinkles with little gingerbread men in it: how cute is this mix!!
  6. Gingerbread Man Socks: I am the gingerbread queen and so I bought these cute sock for myself. My husband stole them and now wears them to church ๐Ÿ™‚ cute but not over the top and great quality
  7. Make a Gingerbread Wreath! seriously, don’t limit yourself to just cookies and houses!
