The options for this board are practically limitless! If it is served with breakfast then it has a place on this charcuterie board. Our version focuses on sweets, but a savory board is just as good. Fill your board with freshly cooked bacon, sausage links, and a bowl of scrambled eggs. Add some bread for toasting and enjoy some open-faced breakfast sandwiches.

How to Assemble Your Breakfast Board

Step #1. Cook the pancakes and waffles according to package directions. While they are cooking, wash your strawberries and blueberries. Slice your banana and set all of the fruit aside.

How long can I let my charcuterie board sit on the counter?

If you want to keep your pancakes/ waffles hot and your fruit cold then you can let this board sit on the counter for about 45 minutes. If you are not quite ready to eat then you can keep the fruit in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble the board.

How many people can one charcuterie board feed?

It really depends on the size of your charcuterie board. We designed this board to serve about four people; however, you can easily add to or take away from the board to accommodate for a specific number of people.

Can you add anything to a charcuterie board?

Of course! By definition, a charcuterie board refers to an appetizer served on a large wooden or stone board. With that in mind, you can add pretty much anything you would like to your charcuterie board.

Expert Tips

  • This board is best stored disassembled so the pancakes, waffles, and croissants don’t soak up any juice from the fruit. The fruit will last 4-5 days in the fridge. everything else can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • If you don’t mind getting your board a little messy, then filling a small gravy boat or bowl with maple syrup can make a fun addition to this board. You can also provide a small bowl or chocolate sauce or Nutella.
  • You can easily customize this board to feed more or fewer people. The limitless ingredient options make it easy to appease any crowd and accommodate a variety of food allergies.
  • Costco sells a delicious chocolate croissant. However, you can also use regular croissants or your favorite breakfast pastry. A nice flakey pastry adds some fun flavor to this breakfast board.
  • Other fruit you can use includes blackberries, raspberries, and kiwi. While you can use any fruit, I like to stick with fruit that pairs nicely with the pancakes and waffles.

How to Store Your Charcuterie Board

This board is best stored disassembled so the pancakes, waffles, and croissants don’t soak up any juice from the fruit. Store your fruit by lining an airtight container with paper towels. You can either store the fruit mixed together or in separate containers. You can store the pancakes, waffles, and croissants in a container or ziploc bag together. Everything can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days.

When reassembling your board you’ll want to reheat your pancakes and waffles for about 45 seconds. I like to reheat them separately so I don’t overcrowd the microwave. Doing so will increase the cook time. It is not necessary to heat up the croissants, but you can zap them in the microwave for about 30 seconds to make them nice and soft.

Ingredients 

  • 6 frozen waffles
  • 6 frozen pancakes
  • Chocolate croissants
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 ripe banana

Instructions 

  • Slice your banana and wash your fruit. Set all of the fruit aside. Cook the pancakes and waffles according to their package directions.
