Recipe FAQs

How is frittata different from an omelet?

Although these egg dishes use similar ingredients, there are a few key differences. A frittata is essentially an egg custard filled with an assortment of vegetables, herbs, cheeses, and meats. Traditional frittatas are cooked primarily in the oven. On the other hand, an omelet is a folded, pan-fried egg dish stuffed with vegetables, cheese, or meat. A frittata has a softer, more jiggly texture whereas an omelet has a more chewy, bouncy, scrambled-egg-like texture.

When should I eat frittata?

Although frittata is most commonly served for breakfast or brunch, you can enjoy this delightful dish at any time of the day!

Should frittata be brown on top?

No! You will know the frittata is done when the center is no longer jiggly, and the edges are slightly brown. If the entire top of the dish is brown, then your frittata is likely overcooked.
