Graham flour is a whole wheat flour, but it is not the same as traditional whole wheat flour. Graham flour contains all three parts of the wheat berry—the germ, the endosperm and the bran. The endosperm is ground finely into a traditional-looking flour, while the germ and bran are ground coarsely. The three are then combined to give the flour its signature look with coarse flakes mixed into the ivory-colored flour.
Expert Tips
- Graham flour is a type of whole wheat flour that you can typically find in the baking aisle with other specialty flours. You can use traditional whole wheat flour or graham flour in this recipe. Just use what you have on hand.
- Pricking the center of each graham cracker with a fork prevents the dough from rising or swelling too much.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days, in the fridge up to 7 days, and in the freezer for up to 3 months.

You were talking about graham flour in your post but then use whole wheat flour in the recipe. Which one do we need to use? Thanks in advance for clarification!! ๐
I found 2 of your videos and 2 graham cracker recipes by you. Which one is newer? This one says to bake at 250; the other 350. This one has us mix the coconut sugar in with the wets. The other starts with dry and just adds it all together in a bowl. Does it matter? I have experimented with a bunch of Graham cracker recipes and settled on yours but was curious about the differences in these. Thanks!
I like baking them at 350 and it like adding the coconut sugar with the wets (it helps it to dissolve a little since it’s a large grained sugar)! Those are the two things I have changed over the years!
Yes, I followed recipe to bake them at 250 and definitely underbaked. Raised the heat and baked longer.
